Yes, and it's in the Standard Suite just like System Events.

But the Finder does duplicate files and folders.

The fact that System Events can move and delete disk items makes this omission of functionality quite peculiar and inconsistent.

Glad to read that I'm not the unique users understanding the situation this way.
After reading Stan Cleveland message I was slightly (no more but no less) wondering if my brain was behaving wrongly.
