There is no technical advantage. Just like there's no technical advantage to using this:

on findReplaceInMatchingCase(theFind, theReplace, theText, matchCaseFlag)

in preference to this:

on esaCgnihctaMnIecalpeRdnif(theFind, theReplace, theText, matchCaseFlag)

As you say, each to his own. But sometimes it's easy to rationalize habit.
