  • Thread-topic: is there something special about smb volumes?

We have a server on a network that uses smb.

I can make aliases to volumes on the server in the user interface, and
they work just fine.

But if I try to script them they fail with a "not found" message.

Is there something special about SMB volumes? Is there a way (by POSIX
path or Finder) to reliably access directories on SMB mounted volumes?

This is what the Finder's Get info returns. (with placeholders)

smb://[servername].usa.[domain]/[volume]/[dir]/[dir]
