FileMaker was (at its Claris time) the one who sold HyperCard / stop HyperCard.

 

Yes, I know, FileMaker is an Apple Subsidiary.

In recent threads one person mentioned livecode is a morph of hypercard.
Another poster wondered how changes or loss of apple script might affect an
established base of filemaker users depending on it.

Looking at the livecode page this appears to be one  possible solution
