OK, this is weird. The one saved in SD was one I wrote at work today while writing up the radar. Its info.plist had the Bundle Identifier set to com.rrd.stringWithContentsOfURL-bug. The one saved from SE has com.apple.ScriptEditor.id.stringWithContentsOfURL-bug-from-Script-Editor as the Bundle Identifier. Curious, I copied the long one from SE and used it in the one from SD. Now the script works. I changed it back. Script fails. I then simply changed it to com.apple.stringWithContentsOfURL-bug. Script works.
Made a new script app in SD with the same script at home, where my company name is ArmpitStudios, so the Bundle Identifier ended up being com.ArmpitStudios.Untitled. Script fails.
So it seems that something is only letting script apps work when the ID begins with com.apple?
