Script Debugger’s ‘Explorer’ window will give you a list of (and a reference to) sheets, charts, tables, rows, cells etc.

I use Mail rules to fire an AppleScript to populate a Numbers sheet with data from customer emails. It works pretty well, though I do get bugs with the Mail side of it, but that’s probably just because I’ve been too lazy to get round to really debugging it properly). The AppleScript —> Numbers part works flawlessly.
