For those who might wonder, Smile has a command to write to the system log files, look:
system log v : send a message to the Apple System Log
system log [string] : the message
[level integer] : a number in 0(Emergency)..7(Debug). Default: 3(Error)
[facility string] : the facility (seen man page for syslog.conf). Default: "com.satimage.smile”
