What about VLC? it's currentTime property is now in seconds, but I've had a
look at the code and it's just taking an internal integer value in microseconds
and dividing by 1000000. It's a 64-bit integer, so AS would otherwise choke on
it. Adding another property to return it as a double/real or a "00:00:00.00"
string would be pretty simple. (If only building it were not so complex -- I
couldn't get it to happen here.)

But if you contacted them and whoever does the Mac side of things, perhaps a
donation might swing it.
