That would be a shock, especially if you use the approach of saving the entire document at once. You are basically sending one event to trigger Acrobat’s internal process of saving each page as a separate TIFF. Then add a batch process to deal with the renaming (if necessary) before trimming to crop marks.
But I can understand the problem if Acrobat is creating errors with TIFF file sizes. I once had some working code for dealing with trim sizes directly, but it has been a long time since I tried that. As others have said, venturing into calling _javascript_ may be the best approach.
