Watch folder activation
Watch folder activation

I have a Mac Mini running El Capitan which has a script attached to a watch
folder.
The script reads plist files dropped into the watch folder to send video
files to various places, described by the parameters in the plist file.
Lately, I've had to restart the machine in order to make the watch folder
action happen. Disabling and enabling the folder actions via Apple supplied
scripts as well as control-clicking the services menu on the watch folder
and disabling then re-enabling the folder actions does not make the script
activate when the files are dropped.
Only re-booting the machine makes the watch folder work. After a period of
inactivity, the watch folder quits working again.
Does anyone else have this experience?
Is this a bug in the OS or is there something else I should be doing to
make the watch folder stay active?
TIA,
Jim Brandt
