I found these lines of code in one of my applications ...
if class of newFile is alias then
set comment of newFile to (mailComt of
headerRecord)
set modification date of newFile to
(mailDate of headerRecord) -- date sent, changes creation date too
end if
Note the comment.
I also checked some folders created by this application, and they seem to have
the same behavior.
This may have nothing to do with your problem, but you should know about this.
(I am currently running OS version 10.7.5.)
