Folks,

This is why AppleScript dies not with a bang but a whimper: because after 23 years of ingrained learned helplessness, nobody in this moribund community has *any clue* how to build a robust, durable platform that is worth anything more than the mere sum of its parts.

I put ISO date conversions and a ton of other common everyday tasks into robust, documented, free AppleScript libraries over a *year* ago, and asked you all to please file Radar requests to get it into macOS so that ALL AppleScript users could perform these tasks without even having to think about it (never mind spew endless threads of hand-rolled half-baked amateur codes that never entirely work).

I swear, come the day Apple finally pulls the plug on AppleScript, the 20-year veterans here will *still* be expounding sagely on how to roll TIDs-based findAndReplace() handlers for yourself.
