--- OK yes
Who is the requester to make some notes on PDFs ?
---- Pdf(s) will be uploaded (published on the webserver with a script---- version1-version2 with email notification when a new file is published) , that's something I have running now.
Who provides the notes data?
—— The client (from a PC or mac) whom is connected to the http://PdfOnTheWebserver...

A kind of CGI or REST API call will be needed from clients to make PDF Notes.

-----------------
So what I am missing is the possibility to add notes to the pdf without forcing the client to download the file to make notes and upload it to the server again after adding the notes.
—————————

The CGI/REST called server side program gets notes data from client. And generate Notes-added PDF on server side with AppleScript or the other technology.

I showed the rough way to do so. You have to think about these programs by yourself. Good luck!

Hi,

no,...let me clarify my question...

I want to share a pdf file via /Library/Webserver....

So the user(s) will access the pdf file via http://local.ip.adress_of_that_mac.
The intention is to add notes or 'in' the pdf file directly without downloading it localy on the clients machine or 'attach' the notes to the pdf file, again without downloading the file.

Hope that makes sense?

Many thanks for any feedback,
julien

With AS, we can add notes to PDF by using Skim. Do you mean it?
I wrote this code in 8 years ago.

Hi all,

Probalby not related to AS code (therefor maybe not for this forum), but does anybody know if there is an opensource code available for adding notes to a pdf.

So drop the code in /Library/Webserver... make it available on a local os x machine.
Something like 'http://www.mytinytodo.net' but for adding comments to a 'shared' pdf.
Probably the aswer will be negative but I can only ask :)

Many thanks for any feedback,
Julien
