Or rather, detect when I've entered my account and I'm ready to work.
I'm loosing the habit of writing everyday so I'd like to launch TextEdit (or whatever) right after I log in (from sleep most of the time, I rarely log out of the account).
- the application (re)starts to run when the machine wakes up
- I've not yet entered my password so it's still running in the background
- Once I've entered the account, it waits for a few seconds and launches TE <- how does it detect that I'm here
- Once that is done, it waits until the following day (I want that only once a day)
I can see that I need the idle handler (but do I want to have an app in the Dock opened at all time ?) but I fail to see the rest.
After a few searches on the intertubes, it looks like Applescript is not able to act on a wake. But is it possible to detect that the machine is awake vs asleep ?
I found a few related 3rd parties:
SleepWatcher http://www.bernhard-baehr.de
ControlPane https://www.controlplaneapp.com
Wakewtcher https://github.com/erluko/WakeWatcher/
Any hint (I'm not asking for code :) just directions so that I can learn and write stuff myself) ?
Jean-Christophe
