"check syntax"

  • Subject: "check syntax"

SE has a "check syntax" command in it's dictionary but the corresponding function is not available form the menu. Is there a reason why "compile" is preferred over "check syntax"?

Are there use cases where "check syntax" should be favored?

Jean-Christophe
