If I remember correct, there are references guides, though in general I don’t
find that these provide much more information than the dictionaries.

In terms of explanations and sample scripts, I would recommend Paul Berkowitz’s
guide that he wrote for people transitioning from VBA to AppleScript. Yes, it
is from 2004, but much of the information still applies, including the sample
scripts and detailed explanations.
