Yes indeed. Anywhere in the AppleScript integer range in fact: from
-2.147483648E+9 to 2.147483647E+9 — with the exception of 0. But nine
digits is a good rule of thumb (!) if the number's to be built from a
fixed number of digit characters as in Brian's handler.
