Several years ago, I wrote such a script for my customer.
It was not easy task.

I expanded every calendar event and made a 30 minutes’ resolution time table on
array.
Some events were repetitious(e.g.:every sunday).
Some events were one-day (full one day).

Whether the script is hard or not depends on what the event types are.
