Not sure if this is the best best for this because I don't think it is really
an AppleScript issue.
I have a automator workflow service that runs an AppleScript. It works
perfectly fine when I run it manually. When I assign a keyboard shortcut to the
service, however, the behavior is very odd.
When in Mail (where the Apple script runs, it starts with tell application
"System Events" to tell process "Mail") The keyboard command simply causes a
beep.
If I switch to the finder and do nothing else, the keyboard command runs on the
mail window in the background.
Mail is set to Allow in Accessibility settings, as is finder.
(The script in question clicks the "Load remote content" button)
I have tried at least the following keyboard commands ⌘⌥⌃-L ⌘⌃-L ⌘⌥-L and ⌘⌃-R,
some of which seemed to be assigned already in Mail, but I don't see, for
example, ⌘⌃-L assigned to any menu.

They all have husbands and wives and children and houses and dogs, and
you know, they've all made themselves a part of something and they can
talk about what they do. What am I gonna say? "I killed the president of
Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?"
