Strange Word behaviour

Am I doing something wrong, or is Word (Word 2011) just broken?

tell application "Microsoft Word"
        set x to name of first document whose name is "z"
end tell
x --> "Conference Planning Committee Call Agenda_02.15.19.docx”

It seems to just be ignoring “whose name is “z””.

A workaround with a loop is fairly straightforward, but if there is a way
around it that’s more elegant, it would be nice.

Maybe I should update Word once a decade, just because?
