Scripting Illustrator and Photoshop.

I've noticed that when scripting Illustrator and Photoshop, as soon as I move my code into xCode, many of the dictionary values or constants lose their declared value. For example, when referencing the color space of an Illustrator document, you can check for "RGB" but in when in xCode, the same script must check for a chevroned value, "«constant ****eRbM»".
The value of "RGB" is no longer able to be checked for. Is this a result of not linking in the dictionary for Illustrator properly? If so, how might I get around that?
Thanks in advance, code follows:
tell application "Adobe Illustrator" set myResult to the color space of myDoc as string set myCondition to not (myResult = "RGB" or myResult = "«constant ****eRbM»")
