Hmm. Xcode is not appearing as a selectable target.
Anyhow, simply putting a tell application "Xcode" block around the ASObjC does the same trick.

I don't suppose you know why this works? Anyone?
Without the xcode targeting we get a syntax error.

So the long and the short of it seems to be that without Xcode installed we cannot compile ASObjC in the Applescript editor.
