Only if you like C and C-style languages. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye
than go back to that nastiness ever again, so AppleScriptObjC is a damned
handy tool. Same thing with dot languages. A lot of people like things that
aren't C. they get really good work done with them. I know quite a few
physicists that use Fortran, because they like the advantages that a higher
level language brings. For them, the disadvantages are not enough to make
them switch.
Since they seem to get their work done in a timely manner, and correctly,
they seem to be doing okay.
If you're going to say "Well, you may as well just learn ObjC, then why even
bother with Ruby, Python, or anything else on the Mac? Just use objC and
hey, the fact that someone else has a good idea with a different way of
implementing stuff, well, that doesn't matter. Because what really matters
is that we all use the "correct" language.
