In this case, it’s not “AppleScript” per se that’s the problem, so much as the fact that when Xcode opens the file it compiles the script before you have a chance to correct the spelling. You should be able use the “Open As” command to open it as “Source Code File" (or “Plain Text File”) and correct the case, save it, then open it as AppleScript again (you may need to restart Xcode before re-opening it as AppleScript.)
