I just checked in xCode and in the AS Editor and there is a processor hogging problem with sleep, but only when used in AS in xCode.

Using sleep in the AS Editor and saving as an app does not cause a processor hogging situation, but in xCode Applescript, it will cause full allocation of one processor.

Has anyone reported this to Apple?

As in the link below, a shell script is recommended and it appears to work fine from my resting.
