Well it depends what operation you perform. Usually things like "display
dialog" have a result, like button returned or text returned. But from your
code snippet I don't see anything that would return such a value.

So if script A calls script/app B, your variables in script A do not
automatically have access to whatever dialog script/app B displayed.

Are you trying to do some kind of Applescripting between applications?
