Threading changes in yosemite

So reading this part from the release notes:

Warning: Using Objective-C frameworks from AppleScript provides many new and exciting opportunities to crash the host process. In particular, many functions, notably presenting user interface, require running on the main thread, and your script may (and in Script Editor, normally will) run on a secondary thread. You are responsible for either managing the threading of your script (see the Threading Programming Guide, especially the Thread Safety Summary); or for providing appropriate guarantees about the environment your script will run in, such as only running it as an applet.

Does that mean ASOC applications now can have real threading, or is that unchanged from before?
