There's a difference between parallel and at the same time. (And that message is saying Mail's behavior has changed, not AppleScript's.)
Having said all that, it's quite possible the issue you're seeing is something related to your apps. Keep in mind that most applications sit around doing not much at all most of the time, whereas yours seem to be full of busy loops.
