If you write code that runs on no one’s machine but your own, code signing isn’t “a good habit” but a complete waste of time.
Code signing is an extra security layer that may stop clients from inadvertently downloading something that is not actually from the original source or from downloading something which could have been tampered with in transit.
It is nothing more nor less.
In the digital world we now live in, one or both of those conditions has a high probability of being true, but if you’re in a situation where you can guarantee neither is relevant, there’s no need to code sign your apps.
