G’day Phil
Unfortunately ‘Synchronize’ is only used to co-ordinate iMAP accounts with the matching server.
I did some thinking, (which seems to be mostly done in my sleep nowadays), and decided to try Rebuilding Mail. It worked! The 10 second pause is now basically nothing.
So, I’ve added a ‘rebuild’ to my 24/7 Apps daily quitting and restarting of all the running Apps it uses. Should work, I hope. Had to loop until the ‘Rebuild’ button became active again, as testing showed Mail moved during the Rebuild goes haywire.
Regards, and thanks.

Dores anyone know of a way to programmatically ‘force’ mail to update, without quitting, rthat might be faster, please?
If you look in Mail’s dictionary there’s a ‘synchronise’ command, which takes an account name as its object. In the Mailbox menu of Mail, there’s also "Synchronise all accounts” menu item. Maybe one of those might do what you’re looking for. Best Phil @sqwarq
And what, you ask, was the beginning of it all? And it is this...... Existence that multiplied itself For sheer delight of being And plunged with numberless trillions of forms So that it might find itself innumerably
