Dear User Group Leader,
We are extremely excited to introduce you to Mac OS X v10.2, which many
of you know as "Jaguar". A different breed of operating system, Jaguar
incorporates over 150 new features and provides significant enhancements
to its modern, UNIX-based core. We listened to the features you said
would make Mac OS X even more innovative, elegant, and easy to use, and
made many of your ideas a reality. Be sure to check out the
spring-loaded folders, the new Address Book, and the spam filters for
Mail. We've also added many new features such as iChat, Rendezvous, and
Inkwell, to make Mac OS X as innovative as the computers that run it.
You've got to see it to believe it.
Which brings me to my next point: You've been doing an outstanding job
of showcasing Mac OS X to your groups. And we're working hard to provide
you with the tools you need to show members and potential members why
they should start using Jaguar today. To find the latest tools, your
User Group Apple Ambassador can access Apple Sales Web to find new
PowerPoint presentations and demonstration scripts that will help you
showcase Mac OS X v10.2. In addition, your Ambassador will soon receive
an Apple Sales Web mailing with the upgrade to Mac OS X v10.2 so your
group can see it in action. The upgrades will be sent to registered
Ambassadors in the USA and Canada at the end of August.
We look forward to hearing how the new features in Jaguar help you with
your User Group. Perhaps iChat will enable members to stay in better
contact or let your group offer real-time newbie support. Or Rendezvous
will let you quickly and easily create a network at your meeting
location. The possibilities are endless, and we value how you and your
members so quickly adopt Apple technologies.
We've worked incredibly hard on this major new release of Mac OS X, and
we're anxious for you and your members to get started using Jaguar. We
think you'll be quite pleased with what you find. Let us hear what you
and your membership think of it.
Sincerely,
Avie Tevanian
Sr. Vice President
