Apple User Group Bulletin - July 18, 2005
...................................................................
Dear User Group Leader,
Have you had a great idea or wanted to ask a question but didn't know
where to turn? Maybe you are curious about university groups or just
need to remember your password.
The good news is that there are resources ready to help. Apple's
Advisory Board, Regional Liaisons, Campus Board and Discussion List
can get you the information you need. Each month we'll profile one
of these resources and offer insight into their responsibilities. In
the meantime, take a few minutes to check out the teams.

Best wishes,
The User Group Advisory Board

3] - Working Together: NEOAC Hears From Campus Speakers
......................
Not all fun events happen in California. On July 23 the Northeast Ohio
Apple Corps will have two campus guest speakers - Samer Karim,
treasurer of SIGMAC, the Case Western Reserve University Macintosh
User Group and Becky Ivic, president of the Purdue University
Macintosh User Group. When groups work together everyone benefits.

4] - MacNuts and Skagit Valley Meet in Multiple Locations
......................
What can a group do when members are scattered across a large
geographical area? Groups like Hawaii MacNuts and Skagit Valley serve
their members by meeting in two locations: MacNuts alternates monthly
meetings in Hilo and Pahoa, while Skagit Valley meets twice a month in
Mt. Vernon and Anacortes. These officers know that sometimes the best
way to keep a group together is by meeting apart.
See how they do it.

5] - Boston Macintosh in Boston
......................
Boston Macintosh held their meeting in a snazzy location last
Wednesday: the Hynes Convention Center, with Adam Engst as their
special presenter.
During the week, BMAC Board member Joshua Weisbuch and more than
seventeen booth volunteers spread the word about user groups.
President Jonathan Duke pointed out the benefits of membership with a
simple question: Would you rather get your computer advice online from
a self-professed expert or face to face from someone who has real-life
experience with your application or hardware? Catherine Boger added
that groups offer not one expert opinion but depth and consensus.
What a week.
