Apple User Group Bulletin - September 14, 2005
...................................................................
Dear User Group Leader,
Please join me in a big user group thanks to Chris Kiltz for her
volunteer time as a User Group Regional Liaison for the Northwest
United States. I first met Chris at a Macworld several years ago and
found her to be an intelligent and energetic person with a warm smile
and a positive attitude. Over the years, she has been a wonderful
advocate for user groups. At the end of September Chris will be
leaving the Regional Liaison team to devote more time to her expanding
business.
All the best, Chris.

4] - Katrina: Groups and Vendors Mobilize to Provide Assistance
......................
Apple user group members have one thing in common: they provide
service to others. Whether it is tech support for a newbie,
volunteering in local schools or having a sale to raise funds for
tsunami relief, members across the globe step up when needed.
Hurricane Katrina was no exception.
Continuing her group's tradition of giving, MacWoburn President P.A.M.
Borys organized an equipment drive for groups devastated by the storm.
Ambassador Deb Shadovitz of the San Gabriel Valley Macintosh User
Group forwarded information from the folks at MacSpeech. Ambassador
Fred Showker of the Shenandoah Macintosh User Group posted some great
resources for efficient giving. President Chris Bastian of MetroMac
made a sizeable personal donation and urged his group to give free
membership to storm donors. Author Ilene Hoffman reminded groups that
people need housing, not just supplies, and opened her home.
People like these make the user group community proud.

Berkeley Mac User Group this month to enable more than 1,200 Berkeley
students to create their own short movies in one week.
Campus MovieFest provided the latest Apple laptops and digital
camcorders, plus training and support, to over 100 teams. The
participants made new friends, gained skills and celebrated their
creativity and movies at a red carpet grand finale. Campus MovieFest
is bringing the movie making experience to over 30,000 students across
the U.S. and U.K. this year.

Safari - Hunting for Members, a perfect theme for an Apple user group.
