1] - Tools to Use: Apple User Group Signature File
......................
A popular question on the Apple User Group Discussion list concerns
the User Group Logo: What are the guidelines for logo use and display?
Ambassadors can easily find the answer in Apple Sales Web's Apple User
Group Signature and Guidelines file.

1] - TAG Team Presentations: Frank Petrie at Annapolis Apple Slice
.......................
The Apple Groups (TAG) Team, an independent resource for user
groups, provides tech support, presentations, resources and networking.
This month, Frank Petrie of The Apple Groups Team will be presenting
to the Annapolis (Maryland) Apple Slice User Group on May 20.

2] - Growing Your Group: Techniques That Work
.......................
Most groups deal with this question at some point. How do we retain
or grow membership? Both new and long-lived successful groups can
provide ideas worth considering.
The Strait Macintosh User Group of the Upper Peninsula and Hawaii
MacNuts of Pahoa, Hawaii alternate meeting locations between two
towns so as to best serve their members.
Washington Apple Pi offers mini-meetings at their local Apple Store
and a widget to keep track of events.
acGroup Detroit sent out a special renewal mailing to past members,
offering one lucky renewal a lifetime membership, engraved iPod and
Adobe's Photoshop Elements 4. (They now have 400 members!)

3] - Regional News: Bob (Dr. Mac) LeVitus Visits Delaware Valley Groups
......................
Bob LeVitus (aka Dr. Mac) will be visiting Mainline Mac Users group
(MLMUG), Princeton MUG (PMUG), Hershey Apple Core and Washington Apple
Pi, from July 7 - 16, 2006. For many groups a visit from Dr. Mac is
the highlight of the year. Visit and see why.
Check out his busy itinerary.

this tip.)

4] - Disk of the Month & Member CDs: Offering Value in an Internet Age
......................
In the eighties, a Disk of the Month (DOM) or membership floppy was an
incentive for membership. Today, members can get demos and
updates online, but downloads can be slow so several groups continue to
provide value via their disks. For example, the Arkansas Apple and
Macintosh User Group disk is full of buyers' guides and tutorials
suitable for a new user or an experienced techie.
In addition to software, the AppleWorks Users Group and iWork Users
Group provide downloadable or disk-based templates for everything from
auction management to book manuscripts.
See how these groups keep the member CD relevant.

His latest - Essential, Useful & Interesting Free Software for Mac OS
X - will be at Central Victorian Macintosh Users' (CVMU) in
Castlemaine. Join the group on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 7:30 p.m.
for a look at ways to inexpensively expand your software palette.
Check it out.

on creating and publishing Podcasts from June 12 - June 15 at the
school's Sioux Falls, South Dakota campus.
Augustana offers both graduate and undergraduate credits for their
workshops and will provide server space for the first Podcast created
by each class participant.
