In our area, many of the smaller community newspapers provide free listings of
upcoming events like MUG meetings. This is a way that we get what amounts to
free advertising. The trick is to ensure that you send out meeting notices
EVERY time you are having a meeting, as we find if you start to get hit and
miss the newspaper will tend to disregard you as not serious or professional.
We found after we sent two or three notices these papers began to anticipate
our notice coming in and would run it almost every month.
