Sorry that you are finding the passwords problematical.
In our group, offers are described in our list and in our newsletter
and the MUG store is promoted. However, the password or similar
information is NOT made public(our list and newsletter are frequented
and received by non MUG members as well as members).
Publicity of the MUG store and mention of any other offers ALWAYS
includes notice that these are benefits for MUG members , only.
Directions are given to send an email to our email address , which I monitor.
I can respond within twenty four hours since, as data manager IKNOW
who is a current member.
So, we keep passwords protected yet make it easy for members to
obtain and the system helps to get membership renewals from folk who
have let membership lapse.
