USER GROUP UNIVERSITY SYLLABUS & FACULTY ANNOUNCED
The complete syllabus and faculty roster for User Group University San
Francisco 2003 has been announced. Faculty members come from a wide range
of MUGs and from other areas of the Macintosh community, and include
three Apple presenters. All faculty members, and their bios, can be found
on the UGU Faculty page.
The sessions for this year's event include:
* Welcome
* Keynote Address (Special Surprise Speaker - To Be Announced)
* Students and User Groups: We're All Learning
* Persuading PC People to Switch - "The Art & Skill of Influence"
* Creating a Useful CD for Your User Group
* A Committee of One: How To Build Your MUG's Website with Little or No Help
* You're Not Alone: A Review of Available MUG Resources
* Welcoming Windows Users
* Apple Worldwide Customer Training & User Groups
* Apple Sales Web and Learn & Earn for User Group Leaders
* Vendor Panel Discussion
* One Question. One Team. One Hour. Go! - A MUG Problem Solving Workshop
* Vendor Reception
Complete details on each session, and the instructors for each, are on
the UGU Syllabus Page.
The event will be held at the Argent Hotel (50 Third Street) in San
Francisco on Monday, January 6, 2003, before Macworld Expo. Registration
is limited to four members per group, and attendees must register
separately. Registration is $35 per person and can be done on the Acteva
registration page. Space is limited, so register early. A special student
discount is available - students should send an email with your name,
school and brief description of your group or your interest in participating.
APPLE USER GROUP LOCATOR REFORMATTED & UPDATED
The Apple User Group Locator on the Apple web site has been updated and
reformatted to make it easier to find a Macintosh User Group in any given
area. Whole states and whole countries are now displayed on one page, to
make it easier to see all the choices available. It also makes it easier
for someone looking for your group to skip over it if the link to your
web site or email link isn't current. All recognized user groups should
have their ambassador check and verify their group's listing and update
it if necessary.
USER GROUP UNIVERSITY SPONSORS ANNOUNCED
The sponsors for the 6th User Group University, to be held in San
Francisco on January 6, have been announced. These are the organizations
making UGU possible, and many will be participating in a Vendor Panel
session, as well as the evening's Vendor Reception, giving attending MUG
leaders an opportunity to meet them, find out about the programs and
benefits they offer user groups, and more. We encourage you to remember
their support when selecting products for yourself, or making
recommendations to your members.
The huge list of sponsors is too large to provide here - check out the
UGU Sponsors Page for a complete roster and links.
