Thank you all for the discussion regarding vendor visits and
presentations.
First - Happy Holidays!
Second, I'm trying to get our user group to raffle off money for
shareware instead. Since most companies have killed demos (since you
can download a demo off of the web) I thought it would be a great boon
to the burgeoning X shareware community to run raffles and give the
winner thirty bucks, the average price for most new shareware. Then
they can purchase the shareware of their choice. The developer: a
winner. The end-user: a winner. Plus it has the added benefit of the
user not having to be bound by which OS they have, the vendor rep
(yours truly) not having to try and balance out the give-aways in
regard to platform and the winner of the raffle gets to get a piece of
shareware that THEY want and fits their workflow and needs while
supporting the development community.
Sincerely,
Frank Petrie
