Sorry, but I have to disagree with you, Gail. I agree totally with Joe's
comments. I feel name calling and flaming has no place on any discussion
list. It makes most civilized people very uncomfortable. I know many group
leaders who are apprehensive of placing a post on this list for fear of also
being attacked for their comments and opinions. It's rude and just bad
manners.
IMVHO there is a huge difference between "quips" and attacking someone who
may already be frustrated, upset, or hurt. I am List Mom for an
international OSX discussion list, with approx. 500 subscribers. I do not
allow this type of milquetoast behavior. I have been told by the majority
of my subscribers that I have the most congenial, helpful, discussion list
that is currently available.
I would hope that we are mature enough, and intelligent enough, to make our
points without resorting to sniping and attacking our peers. We are leaders
in our respective communities and should be setting a better example.
