USER GROUP UNIVERSITY PROFILED IN NEW USER GROUP REPORT
User Group University is the premier user group event at Macworld Expo.
The event is produced by the User Group Advisory Board, and two of the
members join us for this last UGR before Expo. Gail Glore gives us a
summary of the sessions and instructors for UGU and how it all fits in
with today's MUG scene. Lorene Romero then covers all the vendors who
support the event, why they find it important to do so, and what they get
out of it. A summary of all the user group events at Expo, including a
special announcement about the Mega-MUG Meeting, round out this edition.

USER GROUP LEADERS SUMMIT HELD IN COLORADO
Led by Apple's User Group Program Manager, Garr Reynolds, and organized
by Apple Regional Liaison Lynn Poos, a user group leaders dinner and
discussion was held in Lakewood Colorado on July 2. Thirty user group
leaders representing five different user groups, including a large number
of students from Colorado State University and Colorado University, drove
up to two hours to attend the evening event. After a lively mingling
session and dinner, user group leaders shared thoughts well into the
night on how they can grow their groups and reach out to new people. Much
of the discussion focused on the new "Switchers" campaign and on how to
attract new people to the platform and to user groups. Pictures of the
event are posted at the User Group Life site.
