Hi Chris,
I tried to see the info you posted (link) and I gor the info but the
thing I'm not sure is I get just the info with no Apple menu bar or
anything..... :/
Maybe that is the solution at least for many, and like you said maybe we
should ask if this is available right now, or is an as under the sleeve
how you get to that link????

You can change your iTools accounts to free .Mac mail accounts for
free. The
catch is though, you loose all features but mail. It doesn't look like

works now, but its is promising to see that Apple will be implementing
this.
BTW: This was taken from the public help files for .Mac mail.
