I have to admit that for a serious UG subject...this was priceless!
Thanks
Frank.
My Top Reason for Using/Switching to a Mac or starting a UG
1. It's so easy because you CAN.....
have fun
accomplish
learn
not get bogged down in the "computing" process
meet and build friendships
share
BE.

(number "ONE MAC"intosh, give me high "5"...! Plus I
started
with one
mac...then two..then.......well, you guys know the way it
goes)
Physical Mailing Address: Post Office Box 32, Berea, OH 44017
Phone Number: 440-243-6083
My occupation: humble home hobbyist
Which means: I used to be just "mom" then school volunteer, then PTA,
then
computer interested, now Macintosh-aholic and according to my kids, the
computer genius (I'm proud of that label)
PTA everything over the years, school district committees member over
the
years including the district Tech Committee, part-time substitute as a
technical aide in various school buildings. Now PTA President at the
Middle
School, PTA Secretary of the District PTA council heading all the local
Units, Vice President of NCMUG, and still "mom" and "spouse" with a
sideline computer repair inhouse on my kitchen/dining table!...and the
all-around person to call in my MUG when no one else wants to sign up
for
something that needs done.
Favorite Mac Applications: iMovie, iPhoto, PhotoShop, Painter...the
current
leader, learning QuickTime Pro but no matter how I try, can't justify
cost
of FCP to the hubby! :-(
Why I am a member of my MUG: To learn and share with other Mac minded
individuals.
Going to MWNY02? No
Going to MYSF03? MWTokyo03? MW Paris03? Unlikely but there is always
hope,
isn't there
Are you willing to mentor "with" other MUG leaders? Am willing to
educate
and be educated...
Are you willing to help in this MUG Global Effort? Yes, where possible
and
to my abilities.
Am also currently the "lone ranger" in my UG's Community Outreach
Program
(Mac computer reclamation, refurbishing and placement) seeking like
minded
individuals around the country to share with. I submit that this would
be
another source of partnering amongst user groups. We should have a
"one-stop" listing of those MUGs that have such programs to help each
other
with info, experience--technical or otherwise, problems that they may
have,
possible equipment or sources to share, etc.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Macbeth
