APPLE USER GROUP PROGRAM MANAGER TO MEET WITH COLORADO MUG LEADERS
On Tuesday, July 2, Garr Reynolds, Manager of Worldwide User Group
Relations for Apple will meet with user group leaders from throughout the
State of Colorado at an informal dinner in Lakewood, CO. The dinner will
provide an opportunity for MUG leaders to discuss their groups activities
with Garr as well as provide insight into what Apple expects of their
user group leaders. The event has been organized by Lynn Poos, Apple
Regional Liaison for the Central United States. "The response has been
very good and we expect a good representation from throughout the state
at this event," reports Lynn.
NEW APPLE REGIONAL LIAISON REPORTS FILED
Members of the Apple Regional Liaison Team who have just updated their
RLT Report pages include:
- Alain Pougeoise files his first report as RL for Northern Europe, with
information on Initi@tives et Form@tion, a user group with a unique
structure as well as the upcoming Apple Expo in Paris. (Alain's eport is
in both English and French.)
- Colya Kaminiarz checks in from Canada with news of Canadian MUGs at
Macworld Expo, a MUG BBQ and a query for vendors wishing to market to
user groups in Canada.
- Yuan-Yuan Sun reports on Macuarium, a group in her territory of
Central Europe, that is doing some really interesting things, including
translating applications into Spanish and supporting the Spanish Tax Service.
DAVE MARRA RIDES AGAIN!
Apple Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra has more dates scheduled on his
continuing tour of Macintosh User Groups in the Northeast United States.

MACWORLD BUS TRIP UPDATE: WASHINGTON APPLE PI
Even more MUG members will be at Macworld Expo, thanks to Washington
Apple Pi. They have added a third bus to their Thursday, July 18 trip
from suburban Washington D.C. to the show. Details on cost, the various
pick-up points and registration can be found in a MacCentral article and
on the Pi web site. If your group would like to organize a bus trip to
the show, be sure to check out the Macworld Bus Trip Planner, prepared by
Washington Apple Pi and hosted here on The MUG Center.
TRIANGLE MACINTOSH USER GROUP GETS GOOD PRESS
The Triangle Macintosh Users Group is featured in an article in the News
& Observer newspaper in Raleigh, NC. The article not only covers their
group and a recent meeting, but also features positive comments by Dan
Hughes, Assistant Manager at the Durham Apple Store.
MUGs ROAR AT THE SHORE: MACDINNER 10.2
The MidAtlantic MUG Team and the MacWaves Macintosh User Group have
announced MacDinner 10.2, entitled "MUGs Roar At The Shore," to be held
on Sunday, July 28th in Tinton Hills NJ. Highlights of the event include
a keynote address by Shawn King of Your Mac Life and a presentation on
the latest and greatest by Dave Marra of Apple. Space is limited and
registration ends July 5, so get all the details on the MUG Event
Calendar and on the event site, and register soon.
TWO REGIONAL USER GROUP CONFERENCES ANNOUNCED
The Southeast Regional Computer User Group Conference will be held on
September 13, 14, 15 in Atlanta, and will welcome UG leaders from any
platform. The focus of the conference will be on user group management
issues. For registration and complete information, visit their web site

The APCUG Fall Conference 2002 has been announced. The event will take
place November 16 - 21 in conjunction with Comdex in Las Vegas. Early
Bird registration with a substantial discount ends on 8/1/02. Complete
details are available on their web site.

We are making some changes and upgrades to our navigation bar to provide
better, more direct access to the many resources and assets currently on
The MUG Center, as well as those coming in the months ahead. Note that
all of our Macworld Expo and User Group University coverage can now be
