Hi all
I am Kester Johnson and I run the mug back here in
Trinidad. Our site was @ "homepage.mac.com/ttac" but as of
now that site is down until we find hosting. Odds are we
will have to pay for hosting.
The thing about it is that mugs "outside" the US, Canada
and the UK, are treated like outside children, simple
things like getting T-shirts we have to beg for and odds
are 5% of the time we do get something. What I have
started doing is to get monetary support from the local
resellers. Our biggest resellers sells PCs and "they say"
they make 1% of its profits from Mac sales, so they don't
care about that Mac market or the mug. The smaller
retailers try their best to help us but then there is so
much they can do.
At times I feel that there is really no point in this, we
have to follow all these rules and guidelines set by apple
and have no support by them because we are outside the US,
it is really dishearten. But then the members that have
group love the group, they don't not join to get stuff,
but just to be with other macusers. The mug gives them
somewhere to go and enjoy other macusers and help each
other, but as a mug admin, it is a very hard fight. More
so for me as I started the just over a year ago, and I am
always looking at others mugs to see what they are doing
so that I can bring something new to the group.
If there is any of you that are "big" mugs try looking out
for your smaller brothers and sisters, we are all here for
the same thing. We all know that the Mac is that best
computer ever and we are the only people to really love
our computers.
We are totally different from most people, we are family.
