Greetings all again,
("All" is better than "list") ;-)
Just a quick question: which groups here have WELL-STOCKED libraries?
Any tips you want to share on the Library systems?
Members at our BeiMac group pointed out that the Library is a big case
for the MUG. Is that true for the other groups?
How many of these libraries are *multilingual*, for a change!? Apple
added in 14 other languages in Mac OS X - this could be your
initiatives, if your language environment permits it, to stack up
foreign-language Mac books (hint hint)...
Of these libraries, how intensively are they used?
This is not a popularity contest (well, I never intended it to be one),
but far more a look at each group's own Library and see how it can get
better.
Thanks, a great weekend to all, and all the best,
Yan Feng

End of augd Digest
Hi Yan,
I just started a Resource Library for our user group.
http://www.corningmug.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=books&file=index
It is not "well stocked." I have a few titles available now. I envision
that in a year it will be an excellent online resource with links to
publishers website for our members if they need to order. We have 2
publishers in our database O'Reilly and New Riders. I will be adding
Peachpit Press and Osborne/McGraw Hill in the near future.
Since we are an Online Only user group. I can only list the Titles,
ISDN, Brief Description and an image of the book that I received from
the publishers. My wish is to set up some kind of system for my members
to have access to these titles. But I imagine that keeping track of
these titles, shipping costs and the possibility of users not returning
books may be difficult, time consuming and costly for our group. Any
suggestions?
