Does anyone have formula for setting the price for tickets for items

Is it based on the cost of the item?
We don't have raffle tickets. Anything we give away at general
meetings is free. I'm not sure with our tax status if we would be
allowed to charge.
Some groups sell raffle tickets for items like a new iMac. For those,
you would want the price of all the tickets taken together to surpass
the price of the iMac. Two hundred tickets at $5 per would pay for one
low-cost iMac (I think!), and each person would have the feeling of
having a decent chance of winning. Especially if they bought several
tickets!
