Greetings from a dormant, but not out, member on this list. SARS epidemic
basically gripping my part of the world, but I remain uninfected.
Got quite a surprise when I saw this on MacMinute a moment ago:
"IDG World Expo today announced that its summer 2003 event focusing on
technology and professional solutions for the creative arts has been
re-named " Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo ." Originally announced in
March as " CREATE ," the event replaces the east coast Macworld Expo and
will address the needs of creative professionals in design and publishing,
video and music. Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo will take place July
14-18, 2003 at New York City's Javits Center."
I'm guessing - it was a matter of time before they knew it HAD to contain
the word "Macworld". I'd say, it would be inconceivable otherwise.
SARS disease pushed university back a month (so I'm on a month-long hiatus).
Sadly, that conflicts with my summer break originally due to begin in July.
Again, no luck this time - but you may see me in summer 2004. I know, it's a
disaster. ;-)
What does this list think of the name change? More or less reasons for a
more international MUG presence there? Of course I as always wish all MUG
events at the summer Macworld expo much well-deserved success.
Best,
Yan Feng
