Kathy,
Like you, I am a new ambassador, and last night was my first attempt. I
registered with Apple Sales Web sometime last week. When I
double-clicked the URL in the message below, it took me to a log on
page, then to a service agreement I had to read and accept, then to the
Sales Web page. I tried entering the number in the search box, got
nothing. So I clicked on the "What's New" QuickClick menu, and selected
the "Mailbox" entry. That got it. With standard Ground shipping, it was
$8.88. When my new 17" PowerBook gets here, I'll be able to see what's
on it.
Does anyone know how to get a new powerbook faster and cheaper than
ordering it the first day from Apple's web store? I've tried telling
Steve Jobs that, for selling over 2000 Macs for them the last 15 years,
and never making a penny for it, he could GIVE me one, but haven't
heard from him!

Apple Mailbox Now Available Through Apple Sales Web
Starting now, the Apple Mailbox program has changed to a new
distribution model. User group ambassadors will now order the mailbox
via Apple Sales Web. The mailbox kit will involve a small charge of
$4.50 (U.S.) plus shipping. This new way of distributing the Apple
Mailbox allows us to continue offering valuable tools and resources to
the folks that really want them.
The February Mailbox is packed full of the latest info, presentations,
promotions, videos, the MacWorld SF keynote and third party solutions.
And it's available to order starting around noon PST on Feb. 7.
To place an order for the February Apple Mailbox:
- Go to Apple Sales Web at http://sales.apple.com and log in.
- Search for the mailbox by part number L22380A-US or click on
Mailbox under the What's New QuickClick pull-down menu.
- Click "to cart" under "buy" to add the item to your shopping cart.
- You may also order the mailbox by calling Apple Sales Web Shopping
Cart at 1-800-825-2145.
