Hey Matt,
Thanks for posting that link... I didn't attend that in person, so
I, too, was interested in seeing it before our group's Jan mtng... For
some reason, neither Steve Jobs' Keynote nor this presentation's [Watch
Now] buttons worked for me, either in Explorer or Safari... Other
QuickTime streams do though...
However, looking at the page's source, I found the following URL
which *did* work for me...

After seeing it, I have to say I much more enjoyed Phil's "Seybold
2002 Keynote," which was on the Apple Sales Resources Oct 2002 DVD...
I looked for it online, but couldn't find it anywhere, so hopefully
those interested can get access to the DVD...
In particular, I thought it funny/humorous how he began by saying he
wasn't going to talk about Mail, iChat, Address Book, Sherlock 3, iCal,
Universal Access, Jaguar Finder, UNIX, or PC Compatibility, but in
mentioning each he was able to say a bit about them... <hehehe>
He then went on to make excellent mini-presentations on Quartz
Extreme, QuickTime 6, Inkwell, Image Capture, ColorSync, AppleScript,
Fonts, Rendezvous, and Printing w/ the help of Chris Borden (sp?),
Product Mktg Mgr for Mac OS X, and John Zimmerer (sp?), Color Imaging
Product Mktg Mgr...
The last mini-presentation, Printing, is our group's Mar topic, so
I'll be updating our handout from 2001 (for OS 9), adding some cool
Printers matrices, and then ending by showing Phil's mini-presentation
on Printing (for OS X)... You can see the first two here:

FWIW, I thought the recent discussions here were excellent... As for
the Apple Mailbox, I did go ahead and order it for our group, more a
supportive/symbolic gesture than out of need, as I do appreciate what
Apple has done for MUGs in general and for QMUG/LA in particular...
As for computers at meetings, I wouldn't say they were a problem for
us, and in fact for our Dec Jaguar presentation, I enlisted an audience
member w/ Airport to join me in iChat, which was viewable via our
meeting room's projector... Very cool...
As for overhead projectors, I totally agree w/ Randy Marshall about
their benefit... Our group happens to meet at a business that has two
meeting rooms, each w/ their own projectors... However our group has
also rented them, ~$10/hr, which may be an option for groups not able
to buy their own...
Lastly, as for special user group discounts, kudos to Lorene for all
her hard work in securing them... Our group lists a select few on our
website's main page, then directs our members to Chuck's mugcenter.com
page for the complete list, and to then e-mail us for specific codes...
Hope you all are having a great start to the year...
Sincerely,
Doan Thiel Stafford *
