Wait a second,Sara , before you accuse your president. If he is a
campus rep, he may well have taken the course and gotten his free
account by virtue of his Campus Rep position.
I work with our campus reps at the U of Chicago to manage our UCMUG
and I have learned that campus reps get stuff; they are lent an iBook
etc.
Your president as Campus Rep has to know much of what an Apple Sales
person needs to know and as such may have to take the whole Learn and
Earn series of courses as a job requirement.
So, make sure to clarify with the prez if he got his account wearing
his Prez hat or wearing his campus rep hat.
AS a several time User Group president , I would hope that our MUG
leaders are above board in their behavior I also, sadly, know first
hand how vulnerable MUG presidents are to accusation by folks who
shoot from the hip before getting the facts straight.
So tread lightly and don't steam up until you have the facts, Ma'am.

This entire topic on the free .mac account really has me a bit peeved.
Our president mentioned something briefly in the beginning of the
school year that he was able to get a free .mac account through the
Learn and Earn program. As a freshman in college, I had never heard of
this before and figured that my president was right.
Thanks everyone for educating me a bit about the free .mac accounts.
It really puts me in a foul mood to realize what my president has done,
by keeping the account all to himself. Although our school (RIT) gives
us an email address, free webspace and whatnot, the .mac account would
be beneficial for our club as a nice public drop box to store flyers
etc ... in addition to hosting pictures and photographs.
This is a very typical move of my president to take the .mac account
for himself. He uses his .mac account on his Campus Rep business cards
so he can just use that as an excuse. Now on to the next question How
does one nicely inform the ambassador of the club to turn it over for
club use?
Thanks to everyone for bringing up this topic and listening to me.
